The main thing stopping Toontown Rewritten now is bugs in the code. some of those may actually be finished, I can't really know for sure as I haven't been able to access Toontown Rewritten. All of the HQs bar Bossbot HQ are finished (the TTR team even said that Bossbot HQ is done except for bug-fixing), main gameplay features such as Toontasks, Cogs, the Trolley are also finished, and so the only content left is doodles, estates, fishing etc.

The fact that Toontown Rewritten's can handle 1000 players at a time means that the servers are, well, they may not be ready (there are 40,000 TTR accounts registered, that being said, there are probably lots of clones), but they're certainly getting there. Now we move on to the main question, is Toontown Rewritten nearly done?įrom what I've seen as an average member of the Toontown community, I think yes, it is nearly done. This may or may not be true for other servers, but when people wonder about if TTI or TTH has viruses, when have they ever thought the same about TTR?

There's a lot of misinformation and speculation surrounding the TTI drama, but the fact that they had bad management to the point that they tried to RAT each other, as well as steal TTR's code is pretty much confirmedĪs I have said, I'm not saying that TTR is the only good server, I'm just saying that it's the only server so far that hasn't had major security and management issues to the point where they've been hacked completely or had viruses put into their files. Don't think of me as a fanboy for saying this, because let's admit it: Toontown House had shoddy security, and Toontown Infinite was so badly managed that they put RATs in their server code just to get at each other. I'm no Python expert, and I couldn't possibly try and set up a private server, but the wait for Toontown Rewritten's release has pushed people to go for servers that are considerably "risky". What I do not support, however, is missing out key things such as server stability and security, team cohesion and bad coding. I'm not saying that I don't believe there should be other private servers, I support some variance in private servers. In the midst of all this, the strive to be the best private server turned from being a community revival to a competition, possibly even a rivalry. Other servers missed out things in order to push a quick release and appear as the "best server". Toontown House was compromised, hacked, and is essentially dead now, Toontown Infinite had some drama on their end involving arguments with each other, a RAT being implemented into the server and possibly the game, and the stealing of Toontown Rewritten's code. They always seemed to be rushed, having game-breaking bugs, or server issues, or a lack of security. The thing is, and I'm trying my best to tell you this without sounding like some based fanboy, but the thing is that the other servers never really cut it. I don't think they're Toontown related, in fact they're completely different games, but you get the idea. wait what? Okay, scratch out those last three. A few months later, some more private servers popped up: Toontown House, Toontown Infinite, Toontown Revolution, Toontown Worldwide, Toontown: Modern Warfare, Toontown: The New Order, Toontown: Dawnguard. etc, to list them all would take too long, so I'll just talk about what happened next. You know them, Joey, Roger Dog, Alex Newtron, Slate, etc.

It was a small project originally, started by some teenagers and young adults who happened to be good with Python and Panda3D. We really didn't know what would happen, petitions were started, rumours of "Toontown 2" ran about for a short while, but after a few weeks, we kind of lost hope in Toontown. Let's skip back about 9 or 10 months to when Toontown was at it's closure. To know what's gonna happen in the future, we really need to look at the past. I'm gonna start this post with a question: Do you think that Toontown Rewritten is nearly done? Some of the things I say may or may not be true, but remember that this is just my perspective on the Toontown situation.

  • Ironically, the ingots in the Bullion Mint still use the $ symbol. Before reading, please remember that this is what I have seen as a member of the Toontown community.
  • It based off of the real life currency used in France and across Europe.
  • In the French version of Toontown Online, Dollar symbols are replaced with Euro Symbols as Cogbucks are called Euros Cog.
  • A total of 157,760 cogbucks are required in order to become a level 50 Robber Baron.
